in a time where daughters were sent to care for cousins by way of letter, there was a young man bailing hay. the first time there eyes had meet was a few weeks earlier at a church revival service. as the boy was picking his guitar and every mil-worker in town singing along, he spotted her. after the service his heart pounded his brain to say hello but as usual nerves won. she rode off with his heart. so as he was lifting the heavy bail on the truck he spotted her from a distance, he knew "now or never". hours later he had finally built up the courage "i saw you at the church service", her eyes met his her voice melodic answered "i saw you too".
almost 80years later, at 95 he sat across from me in the home they had grown old in, eyes misty in a chair she had picked out, holding a picture of the one he left his heart with. the love of his life.
i held onto every word.
i had witnessed Sunday after Sunday he at 94 opening her car door, & constantly holding her hand.
his love for her as honest and strong as the day he first laid eyes on her.
love in this form is rare. today it is so often overcrowded by silly to do's & must have's, it begins being covered by everything that doesn't matter at 95yr old. and soon u have lost sight of this rare treasure.
i imagine for these two there were some major mistakes along the way, arguments here and there, let downs, but part of love is choosing to love
somehow i have found someone who understands this, i enjoy reading & writing our love story. to the love of my life...
i will always choose u.
get lost in your own love story. u see, it's your perspective that makes it moving
